When is ENOUGH, ENOUGH?
Our entire country is now walking at the edge of a precipice and trying to maintain its balance in order to avoid a catastrophic financial blunder. As far as I am concerned, this all started when we allowed our government to start printing currency that was not backed by a gold standard. We have become the keeper of the world without any regard for the cost. Greed and corruption has infiltrated our leaders.
Our federal leaders increase the national debt limit, print more fiat money and continue deficit spending. Aren't you thankful that our local governments and the State of Idaho have a constitutional mandate to balance their budgets? Our leaders must bring us back to living within our means.
I am realistic enough to know that we cannot live as isolationists but our demise started when we encouraged all global ideas. We have lost our industrial nation and we have lost our economy. We have lost our trade advantages and we have lost our jobs.
You are probably wondering why a Senator from District 8 is rambling on about national policies. It is because corrective methods start at home. I do believe the best policies and procedures start at the grass roots level and need to be implemented as they benefit the majority. I will continue to review our tax exemptions to see how we can broaden our tax base to lower our taxes. I voted to repeal personal property taxes and voted to increase the grocery tax credit. My philosophy is to put more dollars in your pocket and create an environment so that "Mom and Pop" businesses can operate on Main Street on a profitable basis.
My job as your Senator from District 8 is to prevent enactment of any regulations that infringe upon your individual freedoms and personal property rights and to prevent onerous governmental regulations which strangle your profitable businesses.
Enough is enough!! Let us get back to the basics of our constitution and our Bill of Rights!
